Stepping Forward LA
Stepping Forward LA wanted supporters to understand what consistent relationships can mean for young people with foster care experience, and to invite both donations and volunteer mentors. Jasmine, who moved from participant to staff member, could tell that story with agency and a view toward the future.
Jasmine speaks for herself in the film, while candid moments with Alberto reveal the ease and trust in their relationship. Those choices keep the focus on who she is now and what steady support can make possible, giving prospective mentors a human reason to get involved.

What the client said.
We had a great experience with Anthony and the team. They were clear on what they needed from us and communicated with us throughout the process. The end results says it all. They captured the story and who we are and the work that we do.
You will not regret working with them. We look forward to working with them again.
I would 100% recommend their services. They arrived on time and were so welcoming and kind. They set up in a timely manner and had such a fun energy overall. They were also extremely adaptable to the space we provided for filming. The end result was beautiful and portrayed the exact vision we were going for.
This was my first experience working with a production team and without a doubt was one of the best experiences ever. From beginning to the end the process was very smooth. They are great at communication and very patient. I highly recommend this team and their services not just for their great energy, but the masterpiece they put together for our team as well!
Billi’s Impact Story
Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective
The Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective wanted funders and community supporters to see how one event can become an ongoing source of connection and care. Billi’s journey, as a mother and Street Team member, offered a way to invite investment in BEAM’s broader community mental health work.
Billi’s own experience anchors the film, with a BEAM team voice connecting her story to the larger movement. Scenes from the present and earlier events trace a relationship that grew over time. Supporters can see community care as something sustained, rather than a single moment of help.

What the client said.
Anthony Hudson and Visual Outlet were great to work with. They made the process clear, and we always knew where we were every step of the way. The video they shot and edited was beautiful, and they did a great job blending past footage with interviews and B-roll. The entire team was friendly and kind, and I truly enjoyed working with them.

Before we begin
A few good questions.
What is an Impact Story?
An Impact Story is a documentary video centered on someone whose experience brings your organization’s work to life. It shows what changed for that person and helps viewers understand the difference your work makes.
Are these only good for fundraising?
No. Impact Stories can also support program recruitment, corporate partnerships, foundation outreach, volunteer recruitment, and more. We’ll identify which audiences and relationships matter most to your organization right now, then shape a story that speaks to them.
How could we use these videos?
You can share them at events, in outreach to prospective partners, on your website, across social media, and in direct conversations. We’ll talk about where you plan to use the videos early in the process so they’re made with those settings in mind.
Are there any usage or rights restrictions?
Your organization owns the completed video. Visual Outlet does not place an expiration date on its use or charge recurring usage fees. You can share it on your website, in email and social media, at events, and in fundraising and partner outreach. You can also use the included raw footage to create future content.
How involved does our team need to be?
We’ve designed the process to be light on your team’s time. We’ll need your perspective during story development, help coordinating with the people involved, and feedback at a few key points. We handle the planning, filming, and editing.
What is filming like for the person sharing their story?
We guide them through a conversation rather than asking them to memorize a script. They can speak in their own words, and we’ll take the time to understand their experience.
How do you approach sensitive stories?
Before filming, we talk with your team about the context and any boundaries we should understand. During the interview, people can share their experiences in their own words and choose not to answer a question. We don’t treat hardship as the whole story; we want the finished video to reflect the person’s perspective, strengths, and humanity.
How long does a project take?
Most projects take about two to three months from story discovery through final delivery. We’ll establish a schedule with you before work begins.
What videos will we receive?
That depends on the package you select. You’ll receive either one Impact Story, an Impact Story with three custom short videos and a donor thank-you video, or a collection of three Impact Stories. Every package also includes organized, professionally color-graded raw footage. Compare packages and pricing.
What are the short videos in the Impact Campaign?
They are three additional videos (1 minute each), each shaped for a specific audience and call to action. One might highlight a participant’s perspective while another speaks to a partner or supporter. The package also includes a separate 30-second donor thank-you video.
Is raw footage included?
Yes. Every project includes organized, color-graded raw footage. You’re welcome to use it to create or release additional content later, or bring us back to develop something new from it.
Do you work with organizations our size?
Yes. We’ve worked with organizations with annual budgets around $300,000 and organizations with budgets around $300 million. A lean team and a large institution have different needs, so we adapt our planning, communication, and review process to fit how each team works.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Atlanta and work with nonprofits across the United States. For shoots more than a three-hour drive from Atlanta, a flat $1,500 out-of-area production fee applies. See packages and pricing.
How much does a project cost?
Our packages range from $5,000 to $12,000, before any applicable out-of-area production fee. The right fit depends on the stories and supporting videos you need. See package details and pricing.
